The Ponsmere - The ‘Hotel On The Beach'
The Perfect Location...
Formerly 'Cot House', the summer residence of Captain John Oates - wealthy owner of the Court House on Main Street in Perranporth, it was later extended to become the popular Ponsmere Hotel it is today.
The Ponsmere is the perfect place for your family holiday. From surfers to toddlers, everyone enjoys the natural beauty of Perranporth with it’s beach and rugged Atlantic coastline.
Perranporth’s wonderful location and sandy beach is one of Cornwall’s finest - a natural playground for all the family, where the golden sands are an absolute paradise for children, with sea, surf and Cornish sunshine.

Sun Terrace Replaces Outdoor Pool
Stunning Decking Area
Our indoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi are still very popular.
In 2013 we replaced our outdoor pool with a decking area that provides not only shelter from any wind but gives you stunning views across the beach.
Health and Safety laws are, of course, paramount. The outdoor pool had to be encased in wire barriers with a gate to prevent accidents. This of course meant no uninterrupted views of the beach and was used very rarely. Since replacing it with a more modern feature our guests have sole use of the sunbeds and tables and chairs to enjoy the sheltered sunbathing area or indeed to watch spectacular sunsets.
