Golden sands - a paradise for children, with sea, surf and Cornish sunshine. Perranporth's fabulous sandy beach is one of Cornwall's finest, not only the number one with families, it is also famous the world over for its excellent surf and is often the venue for National Championships. You can walk straight out onto the golden sands from the hotel. The views from the Ponsmere are truly magnificent, the three miles of tide-washed beach and the rugged Atlantic coastline make the 'Hotel on the Beach' a very special place indeed.

There are two heated pools at the Ponsmere, one outside with sunbathing patio, where drinks and lunches can be served pool-side. It's an ideal place to relax in the Cornish sunshine and soak up the spectacular views. The indoor pool complex includes a spa bath for added enjoyment.
CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT
is our priority
Our facilities include an outside play area, plus playroom for the smaller children. Cots and high chairs are provided and there are also washing and ironing facilities. Children's evening meals are served at 5pm by our supervisors or if parents wish, the children can have dinner with them from 6.30pm. Supervised children's entertainment starts at 6pm and continues until 9.00pm. So Mum and Dad can have dinner in relative peace if they wish. At The Ponsmere all the children have lots of exciting things to do every day. Our entertainments team organize games, treasure hunts, competitions with prizes, visits to the park and special guest appearances throughout your stay and it's all free!

Following your day on the beach, or after visiting some of Cornwall's favourite places, you can meet new friends and enjoy the Ponsmere nightlife. Our baby listening service allows you to relax and join in the fun. We have cabaret artistes, disco evenings, bingo, quizzes and fun for all the family. Our lounge bars and patio areas allow you to wind down after an eventful day, there is a good selection of fine wines, beers, lagers and spirits to complement your evening.
There are 72 bedrooms at The Ponsmere, all of which are ensuite, a high proportion of these are family suites, which comprise of a double-bedded room with an adjoining room for children. All main hotel rooms have telephones, all rooms have colour television, radio, baby listening service and tea and coffee making facilities.
There is also a lift to all floors. You can keep in shape during your holiday, we have a small well-equipped gymnasium. After a good work-out, relax in the sauna or pamper yourself with a relaxing massage in the Beauty Salon (Advance booking necessary - Telephone Kim Catchpole 01872 571114). There is also a hairdressing salon within the hotel complex.
The Ponsmere has two comfortable lounge bars, sun patios, a large ballroom and dining room, all commanding wonderful sea views. If there are any special requirements or assistance needed our staff will do their utmost to help.
Perranporth
is an ideal centre for touring Cornwall.
There is so much to see and do in Cornwall - local walks with magnificent views, a spectacular 18 hole links golf course, with reduced green fees for our guests. There are grass and hard tennis courts, putting greens and a boating lake in the Resort.
How to get here
Travel westwards along the A30 until you see the sign for Perranporth, turn right onto the A3285, in approximately one mile you will pass through the village of Goonhavern. Turn left in the village and immediately turn right at the mini-roundabout to Perranporth. As you enter Perranporth turn right at the next mini-roundabout along the main street and take the first road on the right (Ponsmere Road). The Ponsmere is situated at the end of the road.

ACTIVITIES
At The Ponsmere there are activities abound for the young and the young at heart! During the hight season our host organises football matches, rounders and volleyball. For our younger guests we have sand castle competitions and also a teddy bears picnic.
Nearby there are many activities to add to your holiday. We can organise discounted green fees at Perranporth Golf Club, horse riding is in abundance in the area for beginners and experienced riders. Perranporth also has grass and hard tennis courts, putting green and boating lake. If you enjoy walking why not pick up a copy of one our local walks or just follow the spectacular coastal path to St Agnes or Holywell Bay. Fishing is also available and for those that would rather be in the water surfing lessons can be organised in the village.
Cornwall has some of the most beautiful public gardens in the whole of England. Details and locations are available at the Hotel. Also a short drive away are National Trust Houses and places of interest.
